Le château de Warwick fut construit sur les berges de la rivière Avon en 1068. Ce premier édifice, érigé par ordre de Guillaume le Conquérant, était en bois. Il fut rapidement reconstruit en pierre. La forteresse d'aujourd'hui est essentiellement due à Thomas de Beauchamp. Elle a été terminée au XIV siècle. ~~ Warwick Castle was built by the side of the River Avon, in 1068, on the orders of William the Conqueror. It was then a wooden fort but it was gradually rebuilt in stone. Thomas de Beauchamp is responsible for the structure as we know it today and the construction was finished at the end of the 14th century.
