Lincoln Cathedral (also known as Lincoln Minster) is one of the largest in Britain. Because of its position at the top of a hill, it can be seen from as far as 20 miles away. Construction started in 1072 and spanned three periods: Norman (1075-1092), Early English (1191-1300) and 14th & 15th Centuries. The cathedral was used as the setting of "The Da Vinci Code" movie adapted from Dan Brown's novel staring Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou.
