Saint Ann’s gate is one of the three gates giving access to the Cathedral Close. It was built with the stones from the old cathedral at Old Sarum (two miles away). Above the gate is a room where Handel, the composer, gave his first public performance in England. ~~ Saint Ann’s gate est une des trois portes qui donnent accès à l'enclos de la cathédrale. Elle fut construite avec les pierres de l'ancienne cathédrale de Old Sarum, située à trois kilomètres. La pièce où le compositeur Handel donna son premier concert publique en Angleterre surplombe la porte.
