Built in 1154 the Jews House and the Jews Court are a reminder of the importance of the Jewish community in the economic development of the city. In the 12th century, Lincoln was home to one of the most important Jewish settlements in England but, in 1190, a spread of anti-semitic riots saw most of the Jews’ houses burnt.
